Marco Beri si laurea in Scienze dell’Informazione nel 1990, periodo oramai definibile come la preistoria del settore. Il computer è prima di tutto un suo hobby e anche per questo si innamora di Python a prima vista nel lontano 1999, dopo aver sperimentato una ventina di altri linguaggi. Fa di tutto, riuscendoci, per portarlo nella sua azienda, la Link I.T., dove dal 1997 al 2019 ha occupato il ruolo di amministratore e responsabile dello sviluppo software. Ora ci ha riprovato con la Link IT Europe. Riesce perfino a intrufolarsi come amministratore nella fondazione dell’associazione Python Italia.
Sposato dal 1991 con Lucia, ha due figli, Alessandro e Federico, e gli altri suoi hobby sono il gioco in ogni sua forma (pallacanestro compresa), i Lego (che come tutti sanno rientrano nella categoria arte) e la lettura.

La migliore definizione che mi viene per Marco è “l’uomo dalla grande intelligenza umana”.
Peccato che a volte parli troppo in fretta e qualche parola rimane in gola, peccato per te e per quelli che ti ascoltano.
Marco è un grosso camaleonte, che ha mille interessi, mille sfide da affrontare e diecimila cazzate da sparare.
Vorrei avere metà della sua energia e del suo entusiasmo. Per le cazzate invece sono a posto così.
I suoi capelli sono caduti perché non sopportavano il frastuono dei neuroni che si scontravano al piano di sotto. Lo so perché è successo anche a me.
Non ho ancora capito dove sia la cabina telefonica in cui si infila per mettersi il costume da buon padre di famiglia e imprenditore. Non le avevano eliminate? Ah no, si nasconde dietro quel monolocale che chiama “il mio cellulare”.

Marco è indiscutibilmente una delle persone che stimo maggiormente: intelligenza, curiosità, eclettismo e giocosità sono le prime qualità che mi vengono in mente. Un uomo destinato all’eccellenza, persino nel suo essere un grandissimo cazzone (detto con stima, si capisce…) senza soluzione di continuità da tutto il resto.
Riuscire a stupirlo è una sfida ed una grande soddisfazione (ed onore) quando ci si riesce. Uno dei pochi di cui si possa dire: “Conoscerlo ha aggiunto qualcosa alla mia esistenza”.

Mi sono comprato “Sviluppare applicazioni web con Django” appena lo ho visto su gli scaffali. avevo già i due volumetti sulle regexp e su python che avevo molto apprezzato, proprio perchè c’era scritto “Marco Beri”.
Il libro, al solito scorrevole ed esaustivo, è, a mio parere, uno strumento fondamentale ed estremamente utile a chiunque si voglia addentrare nello sviluppo di applicazioni web con Django o a chi, essendoci già “caduto dentro”, ha bisogno di un supporto materiale e morale per lavorare meglio e/o in modo più efficace.

ho appena comprato il tuo libro su django, sto cercando di realizzare, seguendo le indicazioni del libro, “la libreria”, ma appena arrivato ai form (capitolo 6) comincio ad avere degli errori nell’applicazione.
Non è che potresti mettere a disposizione i file sorgenti, almeno potrei controllare se sto scrivendo esattamente quello che è richiesto sul libro.
